Ragna Midtgard is a Norwegian film producer, born in 1987 in Tromsø.
She has a bachelor’s degree from The Norwegian Film School; as well as a two-year creative film education at Nordland Art and Film School in Lofoten.
Ragna Midtgard has previously worked at Mer Film alongside Elisa Fernanda Pirir. Midtgard worked there for almost ten years as a producer, head of production and line producer.She has produced and co-produced feature films, short films and documentaries, most recently as Norwegian co-producer for the French feature film More Than Ever, which had its international premiere in Un Certain Regard in Cannes. She was associate producer on Ellos eatnu – La elva leve (which won Best film, Best supporting actor and Best director at this years Amanda Awards in Norway, as well as being nominated for Best Nordic Film at the Dragon Awards, and winner of the Audience Award at Göthenburg Film Festival), and associate producer for The Innocents (premiering in Un Certain Regard in Cannes in 2021) among others. Midtgard has won the Amanda for best short film for Amazone and has been nominated for Hæstkuk (which won in Les Arcs). In addition to this, she has line-produced several films, including Iram Haq’s WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY (Norway’s Oscar candidate 2018) and Jorunn Myklebust’s Syversen’s DISCO (2019).
Ragna Nordhus Midtgard has also worked at the Oscar-winning production company and animation studio Mikrofilm. And she was project manager for Nordic Animation – a collaborative project between animation production companies in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, with a focus on promoting Nordic animation internationally, as well as strengthening cooperation between the Nordic countries.
Ragna Midtgard has been a jury member at Arts and Culture Norway’s fund for short films and documentaries for two years. She has been selected as talent for Nordic Filmlab and participated in Production Value, Filmlab Norway and ACE Animation and ACE Training Days.
